Can I manage Kudzu and smiONE in the same app?
Absolutely! The Kudzu mobile app lets you manage both accounts in one convenient place.
How does transitioning from smiONE to Kudzu work?
Well, you have options. Once you open a new Kudzu spending account, you can choose to transfer your smiONE Card account details over to Kudzu and manage both accounts in the Kudzu app. To transfer your smiONE Card account details to Kudzu, simply tap the Kudzu module in your smiONE app and complete the enrollment process. If you’d prefer to switch your regular payments over to Kudzu, you can do so by updating your direct deposit preferences with your state or local office or other payor.
How is Kudzu different from smiONE?
Kudzu helps you take the next step on your financial journey. While your smiONE Card is a prepaid card, Kudzu is a full service banking app with spending and interest-earning savings accounts, more robust spending and savings tools to build smart habits, and interactive financial literacy lessons that help you master money topics and get rewarded while you do it. Plus, the Kudzu app provides more self-service options for things like updating your personal information.
How do I switch my government payments from smiONE to Kudzu?
To switch your payments from smiONE to Kudzu, you’ll need to update your direct deposit preferences with your state or local office. If you have an online portal for managing your child support payments, you may be able to update your direct deposit information there. Navigate to your direct deposit settings and update your account and routing numbers. You may also need to update the account name or the bank name. Alternatively, you can choose to have Kudzu create a direct deposit enrollment form for you through the mobile app or your online account center. Then, provide that form to your state or local child support office.
Do I need to contact someone from my state or local child support office to switch to Kudzu?
While you don’t need to contact your state or local office to open your Kudzu spending account, you may need to get in touch with them if you decide to switch your direct deposits over to Kudzu. Otherwise, you’ll continue receiving your regular payments on your smiONE Card account as normal.
Will my smiONE Card account close if I open a Kudzu spending account?
No! Your smiONE Card account will remain open and active. Plus, when you open a Kudzu spending account, you can manage both accounts in one app. You’ll still have the same features you’re used to with smiONE, and with Kudzu, you’ll unlock more robust tools and financial guidance. Keep in mind that once you make the switch, you will no longer have access to the smiONE app, but don’t worry—you’ll have access to all your account history and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Can I use the smiONE app after I open a Kudzu account and link my smiONE Card details to it?
Once you make the switch to Kudzu you’ll manage both your smiONE Card and Kudzu accounts in the same app—nothing will change with your smiONE Card account unless you want it to. You will no longer be able to access the smiONE app, but all your data moves to Kudzu with you, so you’ll never miss a beat, and we’ll be supporting you through every step.
What fees does Kudzu charge?
We only charge fees for out-of network ATM withdrawals and expedited card shipping. Our goal is to help you keep more of your money and make it grow. We don’t charge low-balance fees, monthly maintenance fees, or overdraft fees. Third-party fees may apply for remote check deposits and cash loads. For the full details, please view your fee schedule or your Deposit Account Agreement.
